Due to their hard work in the community, 28 players stood out to the Sea of Thieves team. Now they can be found in the game.
Last weekend, from February 23 to 26, a beta phase of Sea of Thieves took place. Important community members who accompanied the game on its journey through testing phases were honored in Sea of Thieves with Easter eggs. These could be seen during the previous testing phases.
Honors for Important Players in Sea of Thieves
A forum thread on the Sea of Thieves website presents many well-known Easter eggs that stood out during the previous testing phases. The forum features the locations, gamertags, and reasons that distinguish these gamers as honorable community members.
It is currently unclear whether these Easter eggs will still be in the game for the release of Sea of Thieves on March 20 or if the honors are only intended for the testing phase.
Some of the honors address multiple players, while others have even been incorporated multiple times into different Easter eggs in the world of Sea of Thieves.
In the form of “Wanted!” posters, tavern names, or skeletons holding long scrolls, the respective players can recognize themselves in the pirate adventure. They were selected based on outstanding statistics, such as “the deadliest pirate during the beta” to contributions to bug fixing with “particularly detailed game feedback.”
A staff member from Polygon also received an Easter egg for eating a banana with the peel on during the E3 presentation of Sea of Thieves.
This player was honored for his endurance swimming. He swam the longest time during a session in the technical alpha.
You can read all other awards in the corresponding thread of the Sea of Thieves forums.
