With Scum (Scum), a new survival game with an unusual setting has been introduced.
As part of a reality TV show, prisoners must fight for survival on an island. The first season took place on Alcatraz, the second on “Bagne de Cayenne.” Older players might think of Running Man, while younger ones might think of either the Hunger Games or the numerous “Battle Royale” games that have emerged in recent years within the genre.
Scum is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and the developers promise a significantly increased complexity compared to other representatives of the genre. Players are expected to have full control over their character, its appearance, and progression in the game. It involves nutrition, metabolism, and body mass, as well as weapon skills, combat styles, and hacking security systems.
Scum is expected to enter Early Access in early 2017.
