As in many games, there are also players in Overwatch who are less friendly to their teammates. One of these players, a well-known streamer, is lashing out against the whole community quite crudely.
The news in brief: Pro gamer and streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel is apparently quitting Overwatch. After another ban from the game, he seems to have lost interest and shortly thereafter harshly berates the entire community.
With that, the last bridges are probably burned.
Harsh words against Overwatch
This is the situation: xQc is known for having outbursts during livestreams, especially when playing Overwatch. Even in professional tournaments like the Overwatch League, he has been banned for homophobia.
After his last Overwatch stream, he was banned again, presumably for insults in the chat. Shortly after, he stated that he was “done” with Overwatch.
This is what xQc said now: While streaming Dark Souls 3, he lashed out at the community once more:
Overwatch is the most ungrateful, dogshit, out-of-touch, SJW, “wants everything” quote-unquote, piece of shit community. I am infinitely sad that Blizzard has to deal with such a completely regressive pile of garbage shit community and reform them.
Who is xQc? The streamer xQc himself is a well-known figure in Overwatch and in the Overwatch eSports scene. During the opening season of the Overwatch League, xQc played for the Dallas Fuel team.
However, Dallas Fuel released him after a few weeks despite the contract, after he had already been suspended multiple times by the league itself. After the first accusation of homophobia, xQc received a second ban for racism.
In the statement from Dallas Fuel, it was only said that they wished xQc all the best for his future. This led xQc back to Twitch, where he was banned from Overwatch twice since August 2018 for a total of 39 days. xQc was also banned from the league for abuse of the report feature.
He once referred to himself as “the child of the Twitch chat.” This even garnered some sympathy from some commentators in the Overwatch League. However, a large part of the community interpreted this more as an excuse.
