When Complete Ignorance Meets Azeroth
Speaking of inexperience. It also manifests on another level. The world of Warcraft has some nasty surprises for any aspiring hero exploring the regions without prior knowledge (or simply going “afk” in the wrong place, sorry, JenNyan: Twitch).
It could be a quest requiring you to defeat a certain opponent. As soon as that enemy is pulled, the fiend summons a multitude of minions (timhorus will surely still dream of Sethir and his minions, Twitch). A quest that seems solo manageable at first then turns into a deadly trap.
Some elite opponents also are good for surprises, patrolling through low-level areas. The monstrosity known as Little is perhaps the most famous, wandering through Duskwood (some have more luck than sense, Source: YouTube, others not, like D1rtyD3vil on Twitch). But the sons of Arugal in Silverwood are also dangerous. Or the rare scavenger Vultros in Westfall. And of course, Hogger in the Elwynn Forest.
It’s not even necessary to be an elite to be caught off guard. Various Sauercrowd members have not survived encounters with the traditionally neutral level 9 pig named Princess in Elwynn Forest (including nooreax, on Twitch). Who would have thought that the two accompanying quadrupeds would intervene in the fight?!
Or you simply overestimate yourself and take on multiple enemies of the same level or an orange or even red enemy, which is of a higher level. The latter just happened to Schnupfnase, who surprisingly battled a red crocodile for a long time (Source: Twitch). In short: Danger lurks around every corner (or pig) in Azeroth.
