The Warlocks’ Grand Appearance
At Boss Number 4, Garr, the great hour of the warlocks strikes. The gigantic stone elemental is accompanied by countless minions. While you can defeat them, two things happen:
- Each defeated minion makes Garr stronger
- Each defeated minion explodes, causing high damage around them and throwing affected characters through the instance
The solution: Each warlock banishes one fire absorber and keeps the ban up until Garr is dealt with and the raid leader gives the command to take out this minion. While the main tank takes care of Garr, the other tanks split up to handle the remaining minions. They can either be specifically taken out one after the other or tanked until Garr is defeated.
In any case, the rule is: You only take out the minions one at a time and stop dealing damage at around 30 percent health. This allows melee players a chance to safely survive the ordeal. By the way, Garr gradually cleanses the buffs on your characters. Many raids therefore buff every available buff before the pull to increase the chances of retaining the important World Buffs.
