Even though it doesn’t look as graphically opulent as AAA MMORPGs, Project: Gorgon has captured the interest of so many players that the Kickstarter campaign was successfully completed.
The developers aimed to raise $20,000 through crowdfunding for the further financing and completion of their MMO. However, the concept and playable alpha were received so well by gamers that at the end of the campaign on August 24, nearly $75,000 had been raised. As a result, the team also achieved some of the stretch goals. For example, dwarves will be introduced as a new player race, along with musical instruments, expanded guild features, and vampirism. The developers are thrilled with the support they have received from the community.
Do what you want
Project Gorgon lets players enter a vast fantasy world where they can shape their own path. The world is populated by NPCs who go about their own daily routines and pursue their own goals. This, combined with the freedoms players enjoy, is supposed to lead to unique adventures experienced together with others. Story elements will come into the game through live events, but those who are not interested in adventure can simply open their own shop and provide other players with items. Housing also plays an important role. There are currently still some open questions regarding PvP, as the developers have not yet discussed how this should look.
Project Gorgon can currently be played in an alpha state. During the last hours of the Kickstarter campaign, a massive party took place in the game. The MMO is expected to launch as a Buy2Play game with an optional VIP subscription in December 2016.
