Samsung has introduced the successor to the popular Odyssey Ark monitor. In addition to a 4K resolution, the 55-inch device offers additional features that are perfect for gamers who play on more than one gaming platform.
Monitors are an often underestimated part of a gaming setup. Powerful hardware alone is not enough to get the most out of AAA games. Without a decent display, the quality of the gaming experience can be severely impacted.

Samsung Odyssey Ark 2023 – The ideal monitor for gamers with more than one gaming platform
What monitor did Samsung present? With the Odyssey Ark G97NC, Samsung has introduced a new version of its 55-inch gaming monitor with 4K resolution after just one year. In addition to its impressive size, the device includes many functions designed to excite gamers.
The biggest novelty is likely the Multi-View function. This allows the connection of up to 4 different input sources, such as gaming PCs or game consoles. In this way, 4 different screen contents can be displayed side by side on the Odyssey Ark. This corresponds to 4 displays with 27.5 inches in 1080p resolution. And all this on a single screen.
For greater flexibility with the input sources, Samsung has updated the connections to 2x HDMI 2.2, 1x HDMI 2.0, and 1x DisplayPort 1.4. The original model only had 4x HDMI 2.1.
The predecessor model was also capable of displaying multiple screen contents side by side. However, since only one input source could be used at a time, the displayed contents were limited to that one system.
What else does the 2023 model offer? To make the Multi-View function even more useful, Samsung has also equipped the monitor with a KVM switch. This turns the monitor into the command center of your gaming setup. Instead of connecting a separate set of mouse and keyboard for each computer, the effort is reduced to a single mouse-keyboard combination. With the “Easy Setting Box” tool and separately available USB upstream cables, you can seamlessly move your input devices between the 4 Multi-View displays.
Are there further differences? No, with regard to the other properties, the two models do not differ from each other. Other than the highlighted features, Samsung has made only minimal product updates.

Is the 2023 model worth it for owners of the predecessor? No, for normal use cases, a new purchase is not necessary. If one does not rely on the expanded Multi-View function and the integrated KVM switch, one can comfortably stick with the 2022 model.

In Germany, the new version is currently only available directly from Samsung at a price of 3,500 euros. The 2022 version can already be found on Amazon for under 1,700 euros.
