With a new trailer, a team returns that has been working on the comeback of the online strategy game Battleforge for about a year.
Battleforge was ahead of its time when it was released in 2009, as it already implemented a collectible card principle that was not very well received on PC at the time. Nevertheless, the online game was able to gain a loyal group of fans and maintain a presence in the market for some time before publisher Electronic Arts pulled the plug in 2014.
The Return of a Classic
Fans did not want to accept this and announced about a year ago that they would work to bring the game back. As a free online game under the title Battleforge Reborn, which would not generate profit. Then there was no word from the project, and many believed it had been quietly shelved. Now the team returns with a new trailer that gives a glimpse into the new version.
The development has progressed significantly; currently, work is still ongoing on the solo mode and some PvP maps. There are still some login issues at present. However, the team is on the home stretch, which is why they want to excite all Battleforge fans and those who want to become fans with the new trailer. A few days ago, they also held a livestream on Twitch, where they talked about the game and its development and raffled “Closed Beta” access. This test phase is set to start soon, with an exact date yet to be announced.
Hearthstone with RTS Battles
In Battleforge, you assembled a deck from the cards you owned, similar to other online card games. These represented the units you could command in battles. Essentially, Battleforge was a sort of Hearthstone where the battles were fought like in a classic RTS. If everything goes well, you should be able to experience this again soon in the new version.
