The Twitch streamer Zuckles was kicked from the popular OfflineTV server in the survival game Rust due to his viewers who provided him with hints about the opponents.
The current state of Rust: The survival game is currently the game of the hour on Steam and Twitch. Numerous streamers are playing it right now, and prominent names are gathering on the OfflineTV servers, where big names like shroud and xQc play.
Zuckles was also there. He built a shelter and fought against other streamers. However, Zuckles was banned from the server due to his snitching viewers.
Viewers reveal xQc’s attack – He is furious
This is what happened: Zuckles was in his shelter when a viewer gave him a tip in the chat: xQc is planning an attack on Zuckles. The streamer read the message out loud and joked about whether he should provoke xQc with this knowledge.
Shortly after, the fight between Zuckles and another streamer took place. But xQc also showed up and wanted to attack Zuckles. In the midst of the fight, Zuckles received a donation with a message that was automatically read aloud and also warned the streamer: xQc is on the way and wants to bomb him with C4.
Zuckles’s viewers gave him hints that he could not have known without them.
xQc’s reaction: The streamer was not pleased with Zuckles’ actions at all. xQc said in his direct manner: “All right, I will try to kick him from this fucking server. Just go to the next one. How is this supposed to be fun?”
Shortly after, xQc did fulfill his promise and Zuckles was banned from the server. In a now-deleted tweet, Zuckles commented on this: “I am no longer allowed to play on the OTV Rust server. The content was fun; I apologize if I ruined someone’s Rust experience.”
Why is Zuckles’ action controversial? Rust thrives on surprises and ambushes that players plan against each other. Zuckles was warned beforehand by his viewers, who apparently also watched xQc’s stream. This gave Zuckles a significant advantage and allowed him to prepare for an attack.
Such actions are controversial in Rust. The well-known streamer Asmongold described the snitching of viewers as “loser behavior” and condemned it.
Nevertheless, the viewers only want to help their streamer and provide hints. However, this affects the fun of other streamers who have been snitched on.
Another discussion is ongoing among the German streamers who have just discovered Rust. There has been a sexism debate sparked:
