After over a dozen years, Runescape is experiencing a small revolution. It has taken nearly half a generation for the game to receive one of the most widespread features: raids.
Better late than never
With the now 154th edition of “Behind the Scenes of Runescape,” it has been proven that even games with almost antique value can catch up to modernity after more than a decade. With the content update, which is set to be released in July, Runescape will for the first time allow players to participate in raids with 9 other players. While there will initially only be two bosses, in the future more raiding parties are planned, which will also increase in difficulty.
The patch brings much more: A completely new planet called Mazcab awaits brave heroes to explore it. The new world is populated by the “Goebies,” a frog-like race in desperate need of help from players to free themselves from their current oppressors.
Generally, Mazcab is meant to offer something for all types of players: PvP fans can help the Goebies transport resources from one camp to another (or prevent enemies from doing so). Story lovers can find historical fragments in the forests. Hunters will rejoice over new “Elite” enemies that occasionally spawn instead of a regular foe.
A brief overview of all the new features is provided in this video:
