One Piece is slowly coming to an end, which is why we are learning more about Ruffy’s greatest enemy. In the new chapter of the manga, he shows an attack against which the Straw Hat is currently helpless.
What kind of attack is that? Ruffy’s greatest enemy is probably Imu. The creator of the manga, Eiichiro Oda, has kept a great secret about his identity and conceals his body. In the anime, this even led to the being having both a male and female voice simultaneously.
Imu can unleash a particularly powerful attack called Domi Reversi. We have already experienced this technique in the manga:
- First, characters are swallowed by an abyss and transformed into demons with an immortal body.
- Once two demons are aligned, any character standing between them also becomes a demon. Hence, the name “Domi Reversi,” which refers to the same mechanism in the real board game Reversi.
- The transformed individuals are under Imu’s control.
So far, we knew that Imu could transform the pirates of the Giant race. They showed no free will afterward and obeyed Imu. Even Gunko was at one point no longer able to assert her own will.
In the upcoming chapter 1164, this technique will be used again, as we know from reliable leaks. And the scene also shows why the attack is so dangerous.
An attack could determine the end of One Piece
Warning, Spoilers: Here we reveal a detail about Rocks D. Xebec and Imu from manga chapter 1164.
Why is she so dangerous? Currently, the story of One Piece is in a flashback to the God Valley incident. In the upcoming chapter, Rocks D. Xebec will be struck by such an attack. Imu orders the pirate to kill his own family.
Xebec was the captain of a legendary pirate crew, which, like Ruffy, belongs to the Davy Family, as indicated by the D. in the name. If Rocks couldn’t withstand Imu’s powers, it does not look good for Ruffy so far, even if the Straw Hat has an advantage through his Devil Fruit power.
Ruffy’s Gear 5 is limited only by his imagination. But if he loses his free will and thus his imagination, it may happen that he is forced into actions he does not agree with – as well as a possible fight with the rest of the Straw Hat crew.
So hopefully there is still a backdoor for Imu’s ability to somehow bypass Ruffy’s control.
