Cristiano Ronaldo is currently still one of the best strikers in the world. However, his rating could continue to drop in FIFA 23 and we will show you why that would even be deserved.
The official player ratings in FIFA 23 are not yet known, but it is already indicated that the Portuguese superstar could receive another downgrade. After all, his return season at Manchester United was anything but perfect.
And should Ronaldo actually receive a downgrade, it would be his lowest rating since FIFA 11, where he had a gold card with an overall rating of 89. Here you can see his card that is already 12 years old:
That’s why Ronaldo’s rating could drop
A major aspect that could lead to a downgrade is his age. The top star is now 37 years old and players at EA’s elite footballer age rarely receive upgrades to their ratings.
Typically, players’ values decrease as they get older, and Ronaldo seems to be no exception, as his overall rating in Ultimate Team has been declining since FIFA 20.
However, one cannot speak of bad cards, as Ronaldo has always been among the best cards in the game despite minor downgrades, and only a few players were at his level.

His performance has declined: Ronaldo scored 18 goals and provided 3 assists for Manchester United in the league last season, which is by no means a bad ratio.
His performances in the Champions League were also impressive, where he scored 6 goals in 7 matches. Overall, Ronaldo was the top scorer for the Red Devils, who, however, disappointed greatly, losing almost every match towards the end and finishing 6th.
But those are not bad numbers; however, in his prime, Ronaldo’s ratios looked quite different. Ronaldo scored more than 30 goals in 6 consecutive seasons, totaling 450 goals in 438 matches for Real Madrid. An achievement that remains unparalleled to this day and one that Ronaldo simply cannot replicate anymore.
What rating could he receive in FUT 22? That is currently hard to say, but a downgrade is likely due to his weaker performances and age. One could therefore imagine a downgrade to a rating of 90, which would still place him among the top players in FUT 23.
