The gaming entertainment company Rocket Beans TV is suffering from the difficult current economic situation, as the managing director announced in a statement on February 2nd. To ensure job security and keep the company stable, a large part of the team has been placed on a 70% short-time work scheme starting February 1st. They hope that the situation will improve.
This is the statement: The managing director of the television and media production company Rocket Beans Entertainment, Arno Heinisch, stated in a statement on February 2nd, 2023 (via rocketbeans):
- As a result of the energy crisis and the resulting tense economic situation, Rocket Beans has received fewer orders. Therefore, in the coming months, costs will accumulate more than incoming revenue.
- As a measure to secure jobs, a large part of the team will initially enter short-time work starting from 1.2.2023 for three months and reduce their working hours to 70%.
- The employees who work on external productions like Game Two are not expected to be affected by the short-time work.
Heinisch says that the content of Rocket Beans TV is funded through a variety of sources, such as YouTube revenues, merchandise sales, or sponsorships. They also finance content on Rocket Beans TV through commissioned productions. The current economic situation is complicating this path.
Rocket Beans wants to rely more on direct support from fans
What’s next for Rocket Beans? Heinisch explains that Saturday events will be canceled in February. There may also be further cancellations or adjustments to the program.
The managing director states that they want to make the benefits for fans more attractive when they decide to directly support Rocket Beans. This is how they plan to generate reliable revenue. They thank the members of the “RBSC” (Rocket Beans Supporters Club) and announce that they will experiment with more features in the coming weeks and months.
The managing director is optimistic that the economic situation will improve over the course of spring.
What is the RBSC? Through the Supporter Club, fans of Rocket Beans can help support the company directly (via rb.tv):
