Rocket Beans is cutting more positions. Nevertheless, they want to continue delivering “awesome content”. How this will work and what the future of the well-known channel will look like is explained by the team in a current video on YouTube and in a blog post. MeinMMO provides you with the details.
This is the current situation
- Rocket Beans produced the gaming format “Game Two” for public broadcasting; however, the contract expired in mid-2025. For this reason, Rocket Beans had to lay off many employees at that time.
- Currently, Rocket Beans is involved in an internal, lawyer-assisted process with co-founder Simon
- In a new post, it has now been reported and explained that positions must be cut again: the goal is to become economically more efficient. However, there will also be new formats and ideas in the future. The channel will therefore not disappear.
The entire current development comes at an inconvenient time for the team, as the Rocket Beans officially celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2025. On YouTube, it says in the video description: “We envisioned our anniversary differently in some ways.”

“The decision was difficult, but economically necessary”
These changes are to be made at Rocket Beans:
- The program has been revised: Let’s Plays will now primarily run on the separate gaming channel but will be less frequent and more curated.
- New focus days have been introduced: On Wednesdays, there will be “approachable content,” while Fridays are dedicated more strongly to gaming. So-called non-gaming topics will decrease.
- The show “RBTV Home” will take place on Thursdays in a compact form, alternately hosted by leading figures from the channel.
- Additionally, new “Pen & Paper” formats and quiz shows will be introduced, but what exactly they will entail has not been stated.
- There will also be a live show once a month on Friday nights that, according to Rocket Beans, “revives the old classics or tries out completely new ideas.”
Regarding the layoffs, the team explains on rocketbeans.tv:
Behind all this, of course, is also the thought of economic efficiency and securing a future position. We need to be better and more efficient. That is why we have also made adjustments in personnel. Specifically, this means: We unfortunately have to say goodbye to some colleagues. This decision has been really difficult for us, but it is economically necessary.

In June 2024, it was announced that Game Two would only run for one more year on the television station ZDFneo and would be discontinued in summer 2025. The reason: gaming is too niche. For a long time, it was not really clear how things would proceed with the show. Now, the team has come forward with a Q&A video on YouTube, answering community questions about the future. They also presented their new plans: Game Two presents concrete plans for the future, getting closer to Rocket Beans
