The special thing about this game is that it receives better feedback in many areas from the community compared to PUBG. Players believe that when the game launches worldwide, PUBG might face issues with a declining player base that would switch to the free-to-play alternative.
In RoE, players find a large variety of modern weapons and quality-of-life features that PUBG does not currently offer. For example, you can attach two scopes to a weapon and choose which one to use during the fight – just as the situation demands.

YouTubers who usually cover PUBG or other battle royale games have also come across Ring of Elysium and report on the game. YouTuber wtfmoses shares his impression of the game in the following video.
He says that the UI of RoE is beautiful. Thanks to small icons, you can immediately recognize what kind of item (weapon, upgrade, etc.) it is when something is lying on the ground. It is noteworthy that there are no weapon drops or red zones in RoE, which you might know from PUBG.
There is variety in the weather. It changes from day to night and also from sun to rain.
Fights: According to wtfmoses, the fights are not as realistic and tactical as in PUBG. This is apparently noticeable with a higher time-to-kill. However, there are headshots in RoE that are quite powerful. Armor comes in the usual levels 1, 2, and 3.
The combat system is said to be a mix of Fortnite and PUBG. Shots need to hit, there is recoil, but there are fewer tactical aspects.
Moses’ conclusion: Ring of Elysium has a lot of potential. The weapon play is not as realistic as in PUBG, but it feels better to him than that of Fortnite.
Another video we want to feature comes from Vault Dude. He immediately states: Given that the game hardly does any marketing abroad and players from America have to play with a ping of 250ms, it is doing very well.
According to Vault Dude, it is clear that RoE is a PUBG clone. If it weren’t for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, there wouldn’t be RoE either. However, regarding movements and mechanics, he compares the game more with Fortnite.
When you move in PUBG, the character takes a moment to prepare before moving and does not take off “instantly”. The same goes for stopping. In PUBG, it takes a second, whereas in RoE, you stop immediately.
He positively notes that dynamic weather is present in every match – something he would miss in PUBG. He particularly likes the optimization of RoE because even weaker computers can handle the game well. In PUBG, many systems frequently experience issues and crashes.
Vault Dude says that once the game launches in America, it will have significant implications.

Opinions on Reddit are widely divided. While on YouTube, you specifically have to search for negative reviews of RoE, Reddit users are not shy about downvoting.
User Corinth777 writes, “Honestly, this is the death of PUBG. Ring of Elysium is much better, smoother, and more fun” and receives downvotes for it. The negative reviews could be due to the thread being posted in the PUBG subreddit.
Others clearly criticize that the game has not yet been released in America and that the cumbersome download deters them. That would be “too much work for something that looks like a slightly improved PUBG,” writes Caffeinated-Coffee
