From Free2Play Game to Subscription Server? This is a rather unusual method, considering that most MMORPGs have done the opposite. Nevertheless, a premium subscription server for Rift will soon launch.
With the so-called Prime Server, Trion Worlds aims to provide a player experience reminiscent of what was possible before “Free2Play” – without boosts, lockboxes, and without items in the in-game shop. However, you need to possess the Patron status, which requires a subscription.
Alternatively, it is possible to purchase the Patron status with the in-game currency REX, but you will only retain the status for a short period.
The Premium Server is Coming to Rift
The Prime Server offers you the following:
- You will be guided through the content faster
- Your level dynamically adjusts to the respective zone
- You will find loot in dungeons that is tailored to your “real” level
- There are caps for professions for individual characters
- Your rewards are also unlocked for characters on other servers
- Only cosmetic items in the shop
- There are no lockboxes
The Server is Online for a Limited Time, Launching on March 7
The Prime Server for Rift launches on March 7. If you purchase the Primogenitor Pack in advance, you will receive a 30-day Patron access, two 15-day Patron accesses for friends, the Armored White War Tiger mount, the Primogenitor title, a Void cloak, and a Prime portrait frame. The pack costs $30.
The Prime Server has a limited duration. Once this duration is reached, your character will be transferred to the regular servers. The exact duration of the server is currently unknown. If you want to experience Rift like a subscription MMORPG, the Prime Server is a good idea.
