Some players were concerned about the state of the Free2Play MMORPG Rift and feared the worst. The community manager has now eased those concerns.
Community Concerns
In the official Rift forum, Community Manager Ocho addressed the worries of some players. They feared that Rift was struggling, developers were being pulled away, and the game would gradually phase out.
Nothing of the sort, says Ocho. The team behind Rift has grown over the last year and a half, and even now they are still looking for new people. Most of the revenue from Rift flows right back into the development of new content, and therefore Rift is “in no danger whatsoever”.
But other questions were also addressed: The “reuse of old content” is not a sign of a lack of resources, but simply necessary to make certain areas of the game attractive again. What good are outdated zones where no one lingers anymore?
Particularly the current Patch 3.3 clearly shows how much is currently changing in Rift: The introduction of a new saga that will conclude in August is a clear indication that the game is doing well. Moreover, there are rumors of a new class that is soon to be revealed. So, Rift will be around for a while longer.
