The online role-playing game Rift receives a new Mage soul in Update 4.3 “Crucia’s Claw”. The “Mystic Ranger” combines sorcery with archery and requires tactical skill as well as action gameplay.
Rift, the colorful online role-playing game from Trion Worlds, receives new content with the new Update 4.3. In “Crucia’s Claw”, the Storm Queen Crucia, a corporeal dragon, fights against Ahnket with her legions. You are meant to prevent this in a large raid.
In addition, there is also a new Mage soul, the “Mystic Ranger”.
Mystic Ranger as a tactical DPS fighter
The Mystic Ranger is a new soul for the Mage. Souls in Rift are like subclasses that provide special skills. The Mystic Ranger can enhance powerful arrows with magic, but always requires tactical consideration. He must position himself sensibly and aim his attacks well so that they do not fizzle out uselessly.
Since most of the Ranger’s attacks have small area effects, the Mystic Ranger plays more like a hero from an action MMO and less like the well-known tab-targeting system from Rift. Therefore, the community is currently divided. Some players love the dynamic gameplay but desire more targeting assistance for their arrow attacks.
Other players, on the other hand, hate the new hero because they reject the action combat system. For them, Rift was attractive precisely because it had a cozy tab-target system and not a frantic action rush.
The new class and the raid from Update 4.3 can already be tested on the Rift test server. The official release will take place on October 25.
