In Baldur’s Gate 3 there are countless combinations that you can use to connect or exploit mechanics to become ridiculously powerful. Players have now found gloves that make your spells absolutely deadly with a wizard ability.

What is this item?
- The Twin Gloves (orig. “Gemini Gloves”) are gloves for magic classes. As a special ability, they allow you to use Adroit Caster.
- This ability allows you to apply spells that normally hit only one target to two targets.
- You receive the gloves from Helsik in “Devil’s Price” in the city of Baldur’s Gate in Act 3. You get them for about 700 gold.
- Important: You must not attempt to rob Helsik, and she must not observe you committing any misdeeds, otherwise she will lock all the
good stuff
in her vault.
This is what makes the Gemini Gloves so powerful: The gloves function identically to Metamagic: Twinned Spell. Through the Metamagic Adept talent, this ability can even be learned by anyone.
Here it gets interesting, as the gloves have a special interaction with Twinned Spell. As user toyhouze explains on TikTok, with this combination, you can hit all opponents with just one spell:
- Cast Metamagic: Twinned Spell.
- Use the gloves’ activated ability.
- Cast a spell like Thorn Whip, Shocking Grasp, or Scornful Rebuke.
- Now you hit all opponents in an area in front of you.
This only works with spells that do not shoot a projectile, so not with the powerful Magic Missiles. A player has discovered that only the second attack becomes an AoE (via Reddit).
Since spells do not cost spell slots, you can deal enormous damage with just one Metamagic point. And the best part: The gloves’ ability is already available again after a Short Rest.

“Play a Dragon Sorcerer for even more profit”
The combination of Twinned Spell and gloves has already found its way into the community. Here you can find tips from players on how to get even more out of the trick. You need to play a Sorcerer of the Draconic Bloodline – an actually very weak specialization.
They can choose an element to which your charisma bonus is added as damage. Choose lightning damage here. You also need the Potent Robe (reward from Alfira in Act 2) and the Necklace of Elemental Empowerment (from the Cradle of Y’llek). Both again add your charisma bonus as damage.
If you now wet your opponents, for example by simply throwing a water bottle at them, lightning abilities will deal additional damage. Shocking Grasp thus becomes one of your strongest spells – Ray of Frost even has the potential to freeze wet opponents.
A Reddit user comes up with a thought experiment of up to 59 damage per target. The fewest opponents in large groups can withstand that much.
