A spin-off series of Rick and Morty was announced as early as 2022, but it is said to have a completely different style. A trailer could now tease the story.
Adult Swim has announced that it will soon air a spin-off series of the popular animated series Rick and Morty. However, this series is supposed to have a completely different style than the previous 7 seasons and will actually be an anime. So far, fans have already enjoyed two anime short films featuring the duo.
Rick and Morty will soon appear in a completely new style
What does the trailer show? The new trailer can now provide you with information about a potential plot. An alien race is seen observing a massive spaceship. After some explosions, it crashes to the ground, which causes visible joy among the alien race.
After that, we first see Morty in a spacesuit, who also seems to be observing the spaceship’s crash from a rock ledge. A child from the alien race points at him and exclaims that Morty is the one who has made “them” ready for them.
The trailer also shows that Morty is celebrated all over the alien city. The boy greets you with large holograms, banners, and posters everywhere. One banner even celebrates a “happy Independence Day.” Morty himself is supposed to be awarded as an honorary citizen, and the people call him Space Morty.
When is the anime supposed to start? According to Crunchyroll, the anime series is supposed to start later this year. However, no exact timeframe for the airing has been provided yet. It is also not officially known whether the series is supposed to start here in Germany this year as well.
What other information is there? Similar to the start date, there are also few additional details available about the series. Thematically, the script created by Takashi Sano (Tower of God) is supposed to be closely oriented towards the original series and will consist of a total of ten episodes.
The series is also being created under the direction of Takashi Sano at the Telecom Animation Film and Sola Entertainment studios. There are still no exact details about the cast.
