Along with ArcheAge Unchained, the developers are also planning Patch 6.0 for the MMORPG. It includes a graphics update, which has now been presented in a video.
What does Patch 6.0 contain? The new update for ArcheAge will bring changes that were introduced in Korea a few months ago. These include:
- The new class specialization Swiftblade
- A Battle Royale on the sea
- A major graphics overhaul
- Some quality of life adjustments
- The 64-bit client
When will Patch 6.0 be released? The new update will be released alongside ArcheAge Unchained on September 30th.
Patch 6.0 will be available for both Unchained and the free-to-play version.
New and Impressive Graphics for ArcheAge
What does the new video show? The new video presents some impressive graphics changes to ArcheAge in just under 3 minutes. The first minute specifically addresses adjustments in five areas of the game that are spread across the world map.
After that, general system changes will also be presented. Future distant content will be better textured. There will also be significant graphical changes to the sky and housing.
In the last 30 seconds, the race of Elves takes center stage. They will receive a major overhaul with new faces and adjusted proportions.
How are the fans reacting? Under the Youtube video, which at the time of writing had 34,000 views, almost only positive comments are gathered. Users write:
- “OMG, I am really impressed by the huge improvement. I didn’t expect it to be this good” – Neoshadow Reigns
- “Looks like a fresh start for ArcheAge. I am hyped!” – Romain Lagès
- “Ok, goodbye WoW Classic and Black Desert, ArcheAge Unchained here I come” – Michel van der Pol
Only on performance and required hardware do some users have concerns. So far, there have been no changes to the system requirements from the publisher Gamigo, who has been responsible for the distribution of the MMORPG in the West since October 2018.
Will all areas of ArcheAge be overhauled? On Reddit, some players have pointed out that a similar overhaul already took place in Korea. However, not all areas were affected.
In an official post about Patch 6.0, the developers wrote:
Additionally, you can explore the updated Gweonid Forest, which has been polished and looks better than ever due to new shadow and lighting settings! Other zones have received similar improvements.
In our interview at Gamescom, Vice President Mervin Lee Kwai III also told us that not all areas will be directly overhauled. However, according to Kwai, there are plans to upgrade the remaining regions in the future.
Along with the new patch comes ArcheAge Unchained. And many players are looking forward to a version without Pay2Win:
