The MMORPG Revival could bring fresh wind to the genre – if it ever launches. The developers have now talked about the current status of the game.
The studio Illfonic spent a large part of the past year not making significant progress in Revival, instead focusing on subcontracting work for Cloud Imperium Games and contributing to the MMO Star Citizen . However, this work is now complete, allowing them to concentrate on the further development of Revival.
The development is progressing slowly
However, they explain to the fans that they have not made as much progress with the game as they had hoped. This is not a cause for concern and only causes some annoyance within the team because they would really like to play the game themselves. Currently, they are looking for investors to secure the funding for the MMO.
Furthermore, they are still working internally on other games that they will release throughout the year and whose revenues they will use for the development of Revival, so that they can move forward more quickly. They already have plans to provide backers with upgrade kits for their houses and want to give more players the opportunity to participate in Stage 1 of Revival.
Revival aims to change the MMO landscape
Stage 1 is already available and offers the possibility to view your personal house in the game. From here, they want to further expand the game. They are eager to launch Revival as they firmly believe that they can change the MMO landscape with this game.
We have already introduced the game and if the developers can really implement their plans, it is quite possible that Revival will have a noticeable impact on the MMORPG sector. But first, the game needs to be further developed, and most importantly, completed.
