The first beta of Revelation Online is over and publisher My.com has released an infographic with plenty of numbers and values regarding the first testing phase. Notably, there is a significant surplus of female characters.
The first closed beta of My.com’s new AAA MMORPG Revelation Online ended on November 17, and now there is an infographic from the publisher that contains all sorts of curious information. For example, about the casualties that a certain type of enemy had to suffer or the total number of fallen heroes.
Women wielding cannons in the majority – the most popular and unpopular classes in Revelation Online
Also noteworthy: The majority of created player heroes were female. A total of 53.7 percent of all players chose a woman as their character, while only 47.3 percent jumped into the colorful Asian world of Revelation Online as a man. On average, the typical Revelation Online player took a remarkable 24 minutes to create their character.
In terms of class selection, two hero types clearly dominated: the pistol and rifle-wielding Gunslinger and the spell-casting Swordmage, each of whom excited 19 percent of all players. The scythe-wielding Occultist was also a favorite with 18 percent. However, players found the massive Vanguard, a tank class, to be the least exciting, with only 13 percent of the target audience wanting to play it. Thus, players of Revelation Online clearly prefer lightly armored female mages and pistol-wielding girls.
Millions of deaths in PvE
In the game modes, PvE, which involves the fight of humans against AI monsters, clearly had the advantage. Because 79 percent of players diligently slaughtered various creatures instead of fighting with their fellow players. PvP was only actively practiced by 21 percent of the player base during the beta. Overall, however, 1,821,316 player characters perished in both game modes.
This impressive mountain of corpses is easily surpassed when counting the casualties among the monsters. The harmless “Sedgelings,” the first monsters you encounter that are essentially just animated grass tufts, alone accounted for 2.9 million deaths! And in the over 60 million dungeons explored, many beasts surely also met their demise. These are impressive numbers that may be surpassed in the second beta, which is rumored to start sometime in 2016.
