What kind of game was it? Battleborn is a hero shooter that was released in 2016 and declared its death as early as 2017. Since then, the game has not been updated with new content.
Basically, the game is reminiscent of Overwatch or Paladins. There were different heroes with interesting skills to use in arenas. However, Battleborn garnered some fans thanks to its quirky characters.
Additionally, the combat system was very action-packed, and there was a lot of humor in the shooter.
What led to its failure? Battleborn was released in the same year as the hero shooter Overwatch. Battleborn couldn’t quite keep up with that.
Additionally, Gearbox needed the developers of Battleborn to work on the implementation of Borderlands 3. Therefore, the shooter was left to itself for a long time. However, it was officially discontinued on January 25.
What are the best memories? Battleborn was an entertaining and fun shooter. The humor is likely to be remembered by players who actively played Battleborn.
In 2016, our colleagues at GameStar held a small tournament where YouTubers and players from the community competed against each other. We have embedded a highlight video of this event:
Are there alternatives or successors? There is a title that is quite similar to Battleborn, and that is Overwatch. Paladins is also a possible alternative. If you’re into action, you can check out Apex Legends.
