What kind of game is it? MU Origin is a mobile MMORPG and belongs to the same universe as MU Legend, a PC game. You create a character from 5 different classes, although you cannot change their appearance. The game is played in isometric perspective.
As with mobile games, there is an auto-play feature and several enhancement systems. Visually, the interface seems somewhat overloaded, even more so than most mobile games.
Additionally, there are some quite intrusive hints about the shop and the items you can purchase.
Why is it being shut down? MU Origin received quite average ratings in the Play Store and the App Store. The shutdown is likely due mainly to the fact that MU Origin 2 already exists as a successor, and in 2022 a further title in the series, MU Origin 3, is being released.
Both are more modern, graphically prettier, and will likely be played more often than the first part.
Are there alternatives or successors? As already mentioned, there are both MU Legend for PC and two other MU games for smartphones. The mobile MMORPG is therefore not truly missed.
