In this issue of the Respec column, we discuss The Repopulation, Divergence Online, The Culling, Life is Feudal, and Portal Knights.
The Repopulation – No release before 2017, but there is a shooter
The developers of the MMORPG The Repopulation have talked about transitioning to Unreal Engine 4. They will gradually adapt parts of the game to the new engine. The shooter part will be released as a separate game called Fragmented. From here on, all other parts will follow, so hopefully by the end of the year there will be something playable in the MMO space.

During the work, many features will be reconsidered and revised to see if they are still needed or if something new should be introduced. The alpha and beta phases will then start over. Therefore, there will definitely be no release of the MMORPG before 2017.
Divergence Online – back on Steam
The MMORPG that has recently faced criticism for allegedly stealing assets and was removed from Steam’s Early Access program can now be bought and played again. All accusations against the developers have been dropped. The team is now hoping that Valve reconsiders its business practices so that not everyone can simply make any claims that lead to a game being taken offline.
The Culling – Launch in March
The new survival action MMO The Culling will be released on March 8 through the Early Access program on Steam. The Culling will focus entirely on the battle royale mode and offer players massive battles with a survival aspect. The game is somewhat reminiscent of “The Hunger Games.” You are in an arena with other players and must try to be the last survivor while this “game” is commented on by hosts.
Portal Knights

The new sandbox online game Portal Knights will enter Early Access on Steam on February 25. In randomly generated worlds, you will build your own settlement, collect resources, craft items, and defend yourself against the creatures that inhabit this world. Portal Knights will not be an MMO; you can either play completely alone or with up to four friends in a team. With them, you will explore dungeons and even take on huge boss enemies!
Life is Feudal
The developers of the online game Life is Feudal have commented on its further development. The medieval game is increasingly becoming an MMO and will soon introduce PvE elements alongside PvP battles. Players will then be able to face the pygmies together with others. Pygmies mostly live in caves, although some have villages above ground. Furthermore, the developers state that there are currently no plans for a console version of the game.
Darkfall: New Dawn
The situation surrounding the classic version of the MMORPG Darkfall Online seems to have been clarified. Ub3rgames announces that they have now finalized the deal with Aventurine to bring the classic Darkfall Online back to the market under the new name Darkfall: New Dawn. While Aventurine fully focuses on Darkfall: Unholy Wars, Ub3rgames continues to develop the classic Darkfall Online and also takes over the operation of the game. They will soon begin a stress test to which all interested players are invited. Details will follow.
