This month they presented a new analysis that deals with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The findings of the analysis are supposed to show which personalities are likely to buy the game.
What does the analysis say? “After the cross-play beta test, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on October 25, 2019, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. From all persons surveyed in our Game Brand Tracker (who have heard of Call of Duty), ‘ultimate gamers’ are the most likely to buy the game. 33% of them stated that they want to buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” says the report from Newzoo.

“The ultimate gamer is completely immersed in everything related to games. Whether they spend hours grinding levels in World of Warcraft, buying the latest hardware or console when they are released, or watching Ninja dominate in Fortnite,” explains Newzoo to gamedaily.biz.
What other types of gamers are there?
Which gaming type plays Call of Duty? Additionally, Newzoo took a look at the consumer market to measure interest in the new CoD installment. According to this study, about 10% of “popcorn gamers” and 3% of “time fillers” have played a Call of Duty in the last three months.
The so-called time fillers mainly use video games to pass the time. Such as while waiting for the bus or while watching Netflix. “They primarily play on their phones and enjoy games that are short and easy to operate on their small screens,” defines Kaylee van Geen from Newzoo.

The personas compared: The two personalities “time fillers” and “popcorn gamers” tend to be more casual in their gaming habits and rely on mobile experiences. You find the ultimate gamers more often in the PC and console space. For time fillers, a title like Modern Warfare would be less attractive because it requires a significant time investment to learn the mechanics and become competitive.
