Remnant: From the Ashes surprised many players upon its release. Nevertheless, the co-op shooter has sold over a million copies so far.
What is Remnant: From the Ashes? The co-op shooter has been plunging you into a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the “Seed” since August. You explore in teams of three (or solo) across several worlds and fight the monsters there. Along the way, you collect resources and loot. The battles against the massive boss monsters, which you can only defeat with the right tactics, are particularly spectacular.
A Surprise Hit
How successful is the game? As announced by the developers at Gunfire Games and publisher Perfect World, more than a million copies have now been sold. That’s a remarkable achievement for a game that came from virtually nowhere.
The reviews on Steam are also good. In the past 30 days, the game has received a rating of 73 percent, which is mostly positive.
The numbers on Steamcharts still show about 1,294 concurrent players in the past 30 days. During peak times, there were 3,405 players. Remnant is simply well received by players.

What does the future hold for the co-op shooter? The team announced the release of the Hardcore mode for today. Many players of Remnant: From the Ashes have requested a higher difficulty level.
- The challenges are much harder to master
- You cannot die in Hardcore mode, otherwise your character is gone
- If you defeat bosses in Hardcore mode, you will receive new rings with powerful effects
- Hardcore characters cannot play with standard characters
Additionally, a new DLC is expected in spring 2020. However, the exact content of the Corsus and Survival updates is still unknown. Another secret DLC is planned for the end of 2020.
