Soon Remnant 2 will be released, a new Soulslike game with Krarren for Steam, Epic, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The director talks about his game in advance and says: There is so much in it that no one has seen everything so far. No tester, no journalist, not even the developers themselves.
What kind of game is this?
- In Remnant 2, you play a hero who travels through worlds to defeat an evil entity called the “Seed.”
- At its core, the game is a Soulslike with tough bosses, classes, and skills, but features firearms instead of just swords and such.
- MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus has already played Remnant 2 and is excited about the gameplay and the secrets, even though he obviously only knows a fraction of it.
What are the secrets about? Similar to the Soulsborne games, Remnant 2 is full of secrets. You can discover hidden chests and quests, find items, and sometimes unlock new sub-areas.
Some of them are only superficially hidden, and the solution can often be found in the immediate surroundings. For others, you need to think “outside the box,” and some are so hidden that you must solve other puzzles first to even find them.
SPOILER: A few examples of such puzzles
- A chest in Station 13 can only be opened if you look at and turn your flashlight in the inventory to find the code.
- If you interact with items and the environment in certain ways, you can unlock alternative boss fights and thus change the story.
- A door in the realm of Pan must be opened using a symbol combination. For this, you first need to read a book, derive seals from the descriptions in the book, and then identify these using shrouds in a tomb.
According to Ben Cureton, Principal Designer at Remnant 2, it should be easy to achieve 100% of the achievements/trophies. But supposedly, no one has discovered all the secrets yet (via Twitter).

Cureton writes on Twitter that neither journalists nor the developers themselves have ever discovered all the secrets of Remnant 2. Even testers with over 400 hours of gameplay still have something new to discover.
The secrets should ensure that you still have plenty to do after the story to explore the game: “Remnant 2 has secrets within secrets within secrets.”
He didn’t give any hints about what exactly will be found. However, I know from my previous gameplay that some of the puzzles can also be based on chance. A world is randomly rolled upon starting, which also includes events and bosses that can appear.
You will probably have to play through Remnant 2 more than once to even have a chance to see all the secrets. And then you still need a few hours for some of them to crack them. I had to get help from my colleague Maik Schneider, for example…
