There is good news and bad news for fans of the MMO H1Z1: King of the Kill.
The good news is that Daybreak Games has finally announced an official release date for the online game for PC: On September 20, the game will leave Early Access and launch officially. However, the version for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has been paused for now. There is no release date for this version.
The Early Access phase will soon be over
H1Z1: King of the Kill has been in Early Access since February 2016. A lot has changed in the game since then. It received a new UI, the combat and vehicle systems were overhauled, and a practice mode was integrated. King of the Kill is described as a fast-paced, action-packed online shooter in which players can compete in a variety of “Last Man Standing” modes, including the popular Battle Royale mode.
The versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were actually supposed to be released this summer, but the development studio states that they simply do not have the capacity to meet this goal. Therefore, they have now focused on the completion of the PC version first. However, this was not an easy decision. This way, they will not have to compromise on the quality of the game. Meanwhile, work is still ongoing on H1Z1: Just Survive, the open-world sandbox survival game, which is not expected to launch until next year.
