Hello everyone,
we have the comment system “Disqus” here on the page. We did not develop it ourselves, but it is an application that we use. We have been using it since the launch of our site. Back then, we had three comments a week; today, on some days, there are as many as 500.
I think it’s time to say a few things about the comment system because lately there have been instances of the following behavior:
- People sign up with their name and an email on Disqus and behave quite reasonably, engaging respectfully with other users, sharing their opinions, everything is fine. This goes on for months.
- Then they get a whim, are in a bad mood, or want to vent. They log back into Disqus, change their email address, their account name to “Guest”, “Anonymous”, or some delicious obscenity, and flame other users or authors of the site as much as they can -> It’s not like anything will happen.
Please note: The name under which you use Disqus, even if you post as a guest, is completely irrelevant. The disguise is about as effective as Superman’s as Clark Kent: Put on some thick glasses and then no one will recognize me!
This behavior reflects back on your entire account. By doing so, you lose the ability to discuss here as a person.
Because we have only one big rule here on the site: “Behave socially. Treat us as authors and treat other users of the site with respect. Only say to others what you would also say to their face, without being ashamed or ducking your head.” This rule is immutable.
And we will enforce a zero-tolerance policy so that the page Mein MMO remains an oasis of reason and community.
Anyone who violates this rule is no longer welcome in the comment section. What name they use or not is completely irrelevant to that.
Many praise and envy us for the community on our site. You have built this community! And we will work together with you to ensure that it stays that way. Therefore: If you want to be a part of the community on our site, treat other users as you would like to be treated, no matter what name you post under.
