In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) you can finally return purchased skins and items with Update 4.3 and get a refund. How the refund system works and how you can sell skins in Fortnite for V-Bucks, you can see here.
What is the deal with returns? Some time ago, Epic Games suddenly offered a refund system. This meant that you could return items you purchased in the last 30 days for the full amount of V-Bucks. However, the feature was almost immediately removed.
The reason: It seems that the refund feature could be exploited, as it was possible to return the normally non-returnable level packs for the Battle Pass. However, the levels purchased in the pass remained intact.
Therefore, the return feature was quickly removed and thoroughly revised. Now, with Update 4.3, it is back, but different than before.
Help, where is the exchange feature?
As back then with the first version of the refund system, players are asking, “Where the hell is it?” We also had to search and research for a while, but eventually, we found the return feature. And that was in the most remote menu in Fortnite!
This is how you find the refund menu: Follow the steps in the following images, and you will quickly find the menu to return skins and items.

What are the rules for returns?
Unfortunately, you cannot buy and return items at will. After all, Epic wants to make money too. So there are clear rules and limits for refunds:
- You can only return skins for pickaxes, gliders, outfits, and emotes. No battle passes or associated items (like level boosters).
- The purchase must have occurred within the last 30 days
- You can only return 3 items for life (so far). So think carefully!
- The returned item will NOT immediately reappear in the shop. So you may have to wait a long time until a returned item is available again in the shop rotation.
- You only get V-Bucks back, never real euros.
- You must provide a reason for why you are returning the item
Whether Epic will increase the limit on returnable items again remains unclear. Do you find the feature useful, or would you like it to be different?
