Currently, everything in Guild Wars 2 revolves around the new expansion Path of Fire. The developers have hidden the biggest surprise right in front of everyone.

Many hardcore fans were already a bit deflated before the release – as there had been a major GW2 leak months earlier that showed everything that would be included in “Path of Fire”, the new expansion for Guild Wars 2. There was talk of four types of mounts.
So the surprise was great when the first players discovered a fifth mount during the night from Friday to Saturday: a griffon.
How to get the hidden mount, the griffon
In the following days, everything revolved around this griffon and how to obtain it for the gamers.
To get the hidden mount, a lot of work must be done. Only after completing the story of Path of Fire can you set out to obtain the mount. You need to collect 40 items across 5 maps. Then you need merchant items worth 250 gold.

The griffon was already hidden in the promo image
The interesting thing is that the griffon was actually hidden in the promo image with the mounts. You can see the image on the official Path of Fire website.
Players later noticed this on reddit:
In the background of the image, where the four known mounts are stretching their heads, you can see a shadowy being hovering: the griffon.
However, nobody had discovered it earlier because no one had looked closely enough. All the information on the site was already covered through celebrity videos and the presentation.
The developers at Arenanet are visibly pleased with this successful coup.
