Redfall is a new co-op shooter in which you can explore an open world alone or with up to 4 players and fight against vampires. We at MeinMMO introduce you to the various playable heroes.
What kind of game is this? Redfall is the latest open-world co-op shooter from Bethesda. In it, you battle vampires that have grown larger and stronger due to a failed experiment. The first trailer is very fast-paced and colorful.
You control various heroes who take out enemies spreading chaos in the city of Redfall with customizable firearms and special abilities. Lines like “Dead vampires taste like blood, death, and strawberries” immediately show that the shooter doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The shooter is set to be released in 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
What heroes are there? Redfall features 4 playable heroes:
- Devinder Crousley
- Layla Ellison
- Remi De La Roa
- Jacob Boyer
Each of them has a different backstory and special abilities. The story can be followed on the official Redfall website, and we have inferred the special abilities from the trailer. As soon as there is newer information, we will update this article on MeinMMO accordingly.
Devinder Crousley – The Paranormal Investigator
What do we know about Devinder Crousley? Devinder is a well-known cryptid hunter and paranormal investigator on the internet. For years, he has worked on technologies that are now paying off in the fight against the vampires. He came to Redfall for a reading tour just before the sun darkened.
Devinder also tries to document the events repeatedly to prove that he was right about the paranormal.
What is his special ability? His abilities are the only ones not entirely clear in the trailer. He seems to have various technical gadgets, including a type of grenade launcher that causes an explosion in the trailer right at second 52.
Layla Ellison – The Biomedical Technician
What do we know about Layla Ellison? Layla came from Wisconsin to Redfall to study biomedical engineering. However, something went wrong during an internship at a dubious research facility. She can only vaguely remember what exactly happened. Since then, she has special abilities.
What is her special ability? In the trailer, she opens an umbrella that grows larger and pushes back hit enemies. She can also summon a kind of elevator that helped the characters get onto the roof.
Remi de la Roa – The Engineer
What do we know about Remi de la Roa? Remi is an engineer who has spent her life in conflict zones. She was part of a Navy elite rescue unit that assisted people around the world. On the way to Redfall, her ship was destroyed, and her entire crew was lost. Now she has made it her mission to take out the vampires.
What is her special ability? Remi has a loyal companion, the robot Bribón, who already made some appearances in the trailer.
Jacob Boyer – The Military Sniper
What do we know about Jacob Boyer? Jacob is a former military sniper who now works for a private security company. This company sent him to the city of Redfall just before the sun darkened. He is especially known for his outstanding precision and attacks from the shadows. In the trailer, he wears a dark jacket with a large hood.
The character description also mentions a ragged raven that serves as a harbinger for Jacob Boyer’s deadly attacks. In his preview image, his right eye is also highlighted, which likely represents his precision.
What is his special ability? In the trailer, you can see his special abilities during the fight on the roof. Jacob Boyer can make himself invisible and thus evade a vampire’s attack.
