What has happened at Mein MMO since May? And what are we planning for the future?
In May, we last reported from the editorial office. At that time, it was said that the MMO year 2017 was starting. Since then, the add-ons for Final Fantasy XIV and The Elder Scrolls Online have been released. With Albion Online, an MMORPG from Germany hit the market, which attracted many more players than the developers themselves expected.
Moreover, ARK Survival Evolved has now transitioned from Early Access to full release. With PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, there’s a new hit game on Steam.
But for us, the most important thing : Destiny 2 has finally been released!

All of this has led to our site growing further in the past months.
You will see more!
Compared to 2015, Mein-MMO.de is now three times larger.
In 2017, we faced new challenges. The gaming weather was not as nice this year – you must have noticed too: There was little new to play.
While in 2016 early titles like The Division, Overwatch, or later Pokemon GO appeared and brought us a lot of new readers, 2017 was long on big releases in the MMO area that captivated players for an extended period.
Nonetheless, we managed to further expand our site during this period. From January to September, we grew steadily at a high level by about 25% and were able to stabilize. Whether there was a lot going on or not: you, the readers, came to mein-mmo.de.

We achieved this mainly by covering existing games such as WoW, The Division, Overwatch, Pokemon GO, Destiny, The Elder Scrolls Online, or ARK more closely and better.
We were also able to follow events like E3 or Gamescom much more closely in 2017. We are now out more often and longer for you than before: whether at events or in the games.
Therefore, we have consistently managed to find interesting topics that many of you were interested in.

Destiny 2 brings great times
With the release of Destiny 2 now in September, “great times” have returned to Mein-MMO.de. September is currently a whopping 65% higher than August, which was already very good.
With guides – like now for the raid, opinion pieces, news, and a wealth of information, we have managed to build a great community around Destiny 2.

This Tuesday, we were able to break two records:
- The record for the most concurrent users on our site

- And the record for the article with the most comments
Especially the comments show that we have a community that interacts peacefully and respectfully. Mein-MMO.de is a site where it’s fun to talk, argue, and joke around together.
If you have to wait 6 hours for the servers to be back up, it’s only half as bad if you can do that together with a thousand other players on Mein MMO!
We will also grow
In May, we already said: We have upgraded the site significantly. We have been able to extend our employees’ working hours.
But that was not enough for us, and we have looked for additional specialists.

We found two new authors. Robert Albrecht is already a familiar face for Destiny fans on our site. In 2015 he ensured that many of you got the exotic swords or the Evil Touch. Under his PSN nickname shin25_HH, Robert has already written excellent guest articles about Destiny or The Division for us.
He is characterized by a high understanding of the game. Robert observes closely why one weapon is truly better than the other. Robert also has a sense of humor, as he demonstrated with his article “Guide to Excess”.
In the future, Robert will write articles for us on MMO shooters like Destiny, The Division, or later Anthem. However, he is also passionate about Diablo 3 and other games. You will surely read a lot from Robert in the future!

Our second newcomer is Benedict Grothaus, who is currently spending a semester abroad in Japan. Benedict will assist Cortyn in tackling the flood of news at Blizzard. His main games with us are World of Warcraft and Overwatch.
In WoW, he complements Cortyn with articles on game mechanics and provides the “hard facts”; he delves into what is happening in the patch notes and the balance. In Overwatch, Benedict is particularly passionate about eSports. He is eager to find exciting stories for the Mein-MMO readers.
Benedict is not limited to just two games. For Mein MMO, he will focus on the new exciting MMORPGs like Camelot Unchained or Crowfall in the future.

Please turn off your ad blocker, folks!
The fact that we can find and hire new, excellent employees is only possible because many of you leave the ad blocker off on Mein-MMO and view the ads!
This advertising finances the new and old authors. Without it, there would only be empty pages here.
Mein MMO is free and funded by advertising. Please, if you are browsing with Adblock, turn it off for Mein MMO. This helps us continue to expand the site and cover topics competently and interestingly!
We want specialists for individual games and to pay them well. By viewing the ads on Mein-MMO.de, you make that possible.
Thank you to everyone who surfs without an ad blocker.

What does the future hold for Mein MMO?
- The future for Mein MMO begins tonight. Our author Leya will play two hours of Paladins and give away cool skins.
- By the end of 2017 or early 2018, a relaunch of our site is planned. We will process your feedback from the past months and give Mein MMO a new look and a variety of cool, fresh features. This has been in the works behind the scenes for months.
- Some new employees could also join us in the coming months.

The field of MMOs is constantly changing. The idea of Mein-MMO.de is to accompany the games with qualified experts, to have an ear to the community, and to write the articles that players really want to read!
You will see more – we will grow more. Let’s hope it continues like this!
