After the major update in May, there is still a lot to come to Red Dead Online this summer. The multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2 will receive roles that allow players to identify even more with their characters and dive deeper into the Wild West world. Rockstar has now introduced the roles of Bounty Hunter, Trader, and Collector.
What are these roles? After the big update for Red Dead Online that was released in May, including poker and ponchos, Rockstar has now presented the next feature. Later this summer, the multiplayer mode will receive roles that allow players to dive even deeper into the online world.
These “jobs” are designed to provide players with new gameplay opportunities and give them a role in the Wild West. Players will first become Bounty Hunters, Traders, or Collectors.
RDO players can decide whether to focus on just one role or take on all three jobs at once.
What can the Bounty Hunter do? Bounty Hunters are supposed to operate on both sides of the law. A licensed bounty hunter can track and capture targets – or even kill them if they are less honorable. Players with a sufficiently high bounty can also become targets for this role.
As players progress in this role, they will be rewarded with items like a reinforced lasso for particularly stubborn targets, shooting tricks, or advanced tracking skills.
What can the Trader do? Traders establish their own business from their supplies. They gain new opportunities to collect materials and produce valuable goods for sale.
Traders receive their own weapons locker, a stew pot, and even a dog companion to warn of upcoming attacks on the camp as they progress in this role.
Traders can upgrade their satchels and acquire a hunting wagon to haul larger quantities of goods.
What can the Collector do? Collectors love to search for rare and valuable items. Seek out the mystical traveling saleswoman in the wilderness to embark on the path of the collector and search for lost jewelry, rare arrowheads, and other treasures. These can be sold as individual pieces or very valuable sets.
Throughout the role, Collectors receive special tools for their searches, including a refined binoculars, a horse lantern, and even a metal detector.
What are the roles for? With the roles, players of Red Dead Online will receive various jobs that they can use to develop their characters. While in GTA Online, the online mode of GTA 5, it’s about amassing wealth as well as owning property and vehicles, RDO players only have their own character to level up.
The roles are also meant to provide players with new gameplay elements. Role players will likely enjoy this feature as well, which has so far mostly focused on GTA Online.
What else is coming? In addition to the roles, the next update will also deliver a variety of new content and improvements. Enhancements in combat and movement are being made to enable a more responsive control system.
Additional damage reduction for defensive players is also in sight. Players have complained that it is still very easy for griefers to kill defensive players. Additionally, the game will remember whether you prefer an offensive or defensive play style.
There will also be many more loot and containers across the world, such as containers on wagons or the occasional gold tooth from your victims.
