Sony and Rockstar Games have announced a partnership regarding the freshly announced Western action game Red Dead Redemption 2.
This will result in time-exclusive bonus content. Selected updates will appear first for the PS4. If you play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One, you’ll have to wait a bit longer before you can enjoy all the content. However, it is currently unknown what bonus content this will entail. Will it be all the DLCs that are released first only for PS4? Are there only certain content updates? How long will Xbox One owners have to wait before they also receive the content?
Partnership with Sony
Sony will announce more about this at a later time. This could be an indication that these bonus contents might involve updates for the game’s online mode. Because this has not been presented so far. Rockstar Games apparently reserves this for a special moment. Perhaps that’s the reason why Sony can’t reveal anything about the PS4-exclusive content yet. However, it could just as well be related to single-player content.
Scenes in the trailer come from the PS4
But Sony had more to say about Red Dead Redemption 2. The scenes shown in the trailer were recorded on a PlayStation 4, according to Sony. While the company leaves it open whether this is a PlayStation 4 Pro or not. Moreover, it is unclear whether the trailer actually shows real gameplay footage directly from the game, or if it includes special scenes captured from the engine.
The detail level in the video is very high. The draw distance and the many small details, like the grass, not only create a fantastic atmosphere but also truly bring the prairie to life. You can only play it upon release in autumn 2017 – and probably only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
