With a special treasure hunt in the Red Dead Redemption 2 style, you can unlock a special revolver in GTA 5 and RDR2.
The files from the latest GTA 5 update suggest a unique Red Dead Redemption 2 revolver. According to initial findings, you will soon be able to unlock this for both games.
Mysterious Box and Revolver Found
Rockstar recently released the new “Doomsday” update for GTA 5 Online. The update brings new co-op missions, planes, weapons, and even a flying car.
It seems there is also a treasure hunt for GTA 5 Online that has not yet been unlocked. As a reward, a special revolver for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 is apparently waiting when the game releases next spring.
First images of the mysterious box and the revolver have already been found by data miners from Red Dead Networks. The box features the logo of Boles Overland Stagecoach Co., which was also found on Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots.
The code of the GTA 5 update also mentions that there will be a challenge and a unique reward. In the description of the files related to the golden revolver, a “Double Action Revolver” and a “Headshot Challenge” are mentioned. Those who complete the challenge will unlock GTA dollars and an exclusive weapon variant of the revolver in Red Dead Redemption 2.
In GTA 5 Online, we will likely be guided to the treasure by a character referred to in the code as “Dead Hick.” There are multiple models for the character. It suggests that the character may remove their clothing – not unusual for GTA.
Treasure Hunt Target Found?
Players have eagerly used the found data in the code to discover where the treasure hunt leads. Player Shishya apparently found out where the trail ends and where the treasure chest is hidden.
A fitting place for a Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Egg. Player DeButeNL somehow managed to put the revolver into their inventory and started shooting with it. They shared the gameplay on Twitter.
We are curious when the treasure hunt will start and what challenges and stories await us. Perhaps data miners will find more information in the coming days.
