The new Red Dead Redemption II trailer reveals that bows and arrows are in the game. In addition, there are 5 more interesting details about the Western.
We had to wait a long time for news about the Western game Red Dead Redemption II this summer. The wait has been worth it for many fans, as they can’t stop being amazed. With a new trailer, the developers have now shown deeper insights into the events.
Now it is clear: We will also use bows and arrows. Moreover, the trailer shows hints of characters and features in the game.
Hunting with Bows and Arrows
As the trailer confirms, bows and arrows will be important tools in your hunt. When you can see the nasty creatures like alligators from a distance in the swamp areas, you’ll take them down quietly.
In addition, we encounter wild bears that are better not to be fought in close combat.
Catching and Taming Horses
Horses are an important part of Western adventures and likely play a big role in RDR II as well. In the trailer, we see how Arthur Morgan catches a horse with a lasso. Maybe there are mini-events where you can catch wild horses.
Main Character, Heists, and Old Acquaintances
The lead role in Rockstar Games’ Western seems to be Arthur Morgan, who belongs to the Van der Linde gang. In the trailer, we see him collecting debts at the beginning. Not a nice fellow you would want to run into in the wild west.
Heists
It seems that heists are among the sources of income of the Van der Linde gang. In the trailer description, it says that the gang members “raid, fight, and steal through the vast and wild heart of America to survive.”
In the trailer, we see attacks on trains and vaults.
The heists fit well into the game from various perspectives. In classic Westerns, this component is often seen, so it fits the mold. Additionally, Rockstar has already proven in GTA 5 that they have a knack for heists.
Possibly Set in 3 States
In the trailer, Arthur Morgan explains that sheriffs (or lawmen) are after the gang in three different states. This matches the landscape changes we see in the video. From alligators in swamp areas to snowy mountains, there are clear differences.
Moreover, it is said “… they pursued us from the West and across the mountains …”. If this line comes from a later part of the game, we could be part of this chase in the story.
Perhaps Rockstar also chooses an area for Red Dead Redemption II that includes mountains and swamps.
Dutch is Back!
As we’ve already learned, the Van der Linde gang is back! With the gang, the boss is also back in play. At the end of the trailer, we see Dutch speaking with Arthur.
We are excited to see which characters from the first part will also appear in Red Dead Redemption II.
Have you noticed anything else? Which features or characters are you particularly looking forward to?
Meanwhile, we are still waiting for an announcement of Red Dead Redemption II for PC.
