Where to find the shark in RDR 2 – Guide and Location
Who found it? The YouTuber edepot has provided his guide on how he finds the mysterious shark in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How to find the shark: You need to traverse a huge distance, even leaving the map of RDR 2. In edepot’s video, you will find the detailed guide. Below, we will outline the key points in written form. However, we recommend watching the video to clarify locations and details.
Leave the map – Head to the snowy area
Preparation: It’s best to fill your inventory with all kinds of food and drinks, as you have a long journey ahead. It’s also important to have enough alcohol with you to get yourself drunk until you pass out.
We will explain the individual steps using screenshots from the above video by edepot.
The way: First, you travel to a location north of Grizzlies West. Ride from Barrow Lagoon on the road towards the west. At the fork in the road, take the right turn heading north.
After a few meters, you will find a snowy path on the right side, which is clearly visible on the gray mountain.
There, at the foot of this path, you need to exploit a camp bug that brings you outside the borders of RDR 2. You set up a camp, sit in the tent, leave the tent again, and are now technically outside the map.
Now ride towards the marker located west of the “M” in Ambarino. For this, you have to ride up a mountain. Then follow the new path that lies before you down the mountain.
Once you reach the bottom, ride northeast, outside the map.

Up there on the snowy mountain, there is also a secret lake:
On the way to Guarma – Stay away from the snipers
If you are outside the map, snipers will be targeting you. So try to keep a distance between you and the border. Because now you have to undertake a long march. Moving counterclockwise, you are now going around the map. Your way to Guarma.
After you have completed the path, wait by the yellow dot.
From there, head southeast until the map changes to Guarma. Show the map (Start, map) Guarma, and continue to head northwest. Walk to the San Luis River.
At the coast of the San Luis River, drink (as Arthur) a lot of alcohol until you pass out. When you wake up again, you will fall aimlessly through the world. Try to fall in the direction of north until you finally land. Now you are in Guarma without alerted snipers.
Finding the shark in Red Dead Redemption 2
Go to the beach on the southeastern side of the island. Go into the water and walk along the cliff. You can take breaks on the rocks from time to time to avoid drowning. There, you can regenerate your breath and stamina. This takes a while. Walk along the cliff, take breaks, walk, and so on, until you finally reach a point where many trees are standing. This is shown on the map:
From there, continue south. Go as far as the textures eventually become missing. From there, head west until you are just before the water. With the water in sight, you can jump to the land with the strange textures and walk along there.
Go a few meters into the water, and the shark will appear in front of you, swimming. As soon as the shark comes onto the land, it dies.
Is this still an Easter egg? It’s unclear whether this shark still qualifies as an Easter egg. After all, you have to stray far from the actual gameplay style and glitch outside the boundaries.
Will you take on the quest to find the shark, or is it too tedious for you?
