Rockstar has repeatedly emphasized that the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be extremely detailed and vibrant. The developer now announces that RDR 2 will feature nearly 200 different species of animals, all of which have their place in the ecosystem of the game.

- Fish
- and reptiles.
Whether the genitals of all these animals shrink in the cold like those of horses, Rockstar has unfortunately not disclosed.
What does it mean for the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2? It is clear that Rockstar has invested a lot of work into the wildlife of RDR 2, making it an integral part of the gameplay.
For instance, players will be able to hunt or go fishing. With some luck, you will also be able to get really rare items.
The harvested resources, such as meat or bones, can be sold or kept, and new equipment or clothing can be crafted from them. Alternatively, resources can also be donated to your own gang to increase morale and strengthen bonds among the members.
It is also possible that there will be an achievement in Red Dead Redemption 2 for capturing every species in the game.
The tools you use make a difference: It is important to have the right weapons when hunting prey.
A bow makes less noise than a rifle, for example, and its arrows leave less damage on the meat and hide of the animal. Accordingly, the yield will be better when using a bow.
