Location of the legendary giant alligator in RDR 2
The legendary alligator does not simply appear in front of you in Red Dead Redemption 2. You first have to search for it.
Where can you find the alligator? In Lake Lagras is the hunting area of the croc. There you need to head quite far west of the lake, near the Kamassa River. During the mission “Leisure on the Land” from Chapter 4, you should encounter the alligator. However, players note that it might not always be in the wild from this point on. Speculations suggest that you should have reached Chapter 6 first before you can track it down.
So, you travel west from Lakay to Bayou Nova. In the marked target area on the map, you will find the legendary beast. However, you first need to track it down.
Where can you find the croc? Once you have arrived in the right area, a message will appear in the upper left corner of the screen stating that you are in the territory of a legendary animal. Without this message, you will not be able to find the animal. Move around the area until a white question mark appears.
How to track the alligator? You cannot simply encounter the giant croc in the wild. You have to activate Arthur’s hunting sense for that. This will help you find three clues to follow. The question mark on the minimap helps you discover the first clue. Other clues are broken sticks and carcasses.
Tips for fighting the legendary alligator
Tough fight: Once you’ve spotted the alligator, you should take out your strongest weapons and aim at the animal’s head with Dead Eye. But be careful. Depending on the weapon, it may take many shots to bring down the beast. Dynamite is also an option. Definitely use Dead Eye to place as many bullets as possible into the croc’s head.
