Paragon is a “third-person” MOBA for PC and PS4. Essentially like LoL with shooter gameplay.
Fans appreciated that everything was a bit slower and more deliberate than in other MOBAs. This made the matches more tactical and longer. However, it wasn’t really a hit in an open beta that started in August 2016, but the initial response was not great.
The action MOBA became significantly faster and more action-packed. Every game was supposed to be “on the edge,” with more adrenaline, more action. This was the stated goal of “Monolith,” and they achieved that goal.
How did it turn out?
Paragon is still in an early stage. It’s hard to say how this will ultimately affect the game.
Many new players presumably joined, who now prefer Paragon. In the short and medium term, it was a clear improvement of the situation. However, previous loyal players were annoyed, who liked Paragon precisely because it was so different.
