Real women are only for casuals. Those who are really cool marry an anime girl these days.
The culture surrounding anime and its characters has changed rapidly in recent years. While “anime nerds” were initially labeled as otaku who escape into anime worlds and spend all day consuming series featuring scantily clad big-eyed girls, that perception has changed significantly. Most otakus are proud of their lifestyle, and thanks to the internet, they can always find like-minded people to indulge in nerd culture together.

Rarely do silly remarks like “You won’t get a girl in real life as long as you’re ogling cartoon girls” help. And while that might be true in some cases, Japan has now found a solution for that.
As we all know, real women cannot compete with the qualities of anime girls—so why not marry one?
Do you want to love and honor her until the power outage separates you?
A new VR game from the developer Hibiki allows exactly that. With a VR headset, players can marry the anime girl of their dreams (“waifu”) in LovelyxCation. This includes a complete ceremony with a priest, guests, and of course, the desired wife.

For the obligatory wedding kiss, there’s even a small addition—a sponge that simulates the kiss of the lady.
Since this is Japan we are talking about, it surely won’t be long before there’s an “18+” patch that also includes the wedding night and honeymoon.
In this sense, let me leave you with an important life lesson: No waifu no laifu. Have a nice day.
What do you think of this kind of virtual reality? Absolute nonsense for unrealistic nerds? Or just a funny idea that one should try out? Let us know in the comments!
