Choosing the right weapon in Ready or Not is just as difficult as it is important. We show you the best weapon in the shooter and how to improve it. Additionally, we provide you with some strong alternative weapons for the Steam game.
Is there a best weapon at all? Yes and No.
The best weapon in Ready or Not always depends on the mission. If you only have to face small-time criminals with no money, a short weapon with pistol caliber is often sufficient. However, these are not useful against well-equipped enemies.
However, there are also weapons that are effective for as many occasions as possible. One of them we present to you here.
Here you can see the trailer for the 1.0 launch of the game:
The best weapon in Ready or Not
What is the best all-round weapon? The MK-18 is considered the best weapon in Ready or Not, as it offers the perfect balance between the important short weapon length and high penetration power. Furthermore, it is not penalized in terms of fire rate as much as other carbines.
The MK-18 has the advantage of a larger caliber over many small weapons that only fire with a pistol caliber. With these weapons, you need more shots until an enemy goes down due to the small caliber. This is particularly inefficient against heavily armored enemies.
You should not only refrain from using long weapons but also from weapons that become long through various mods.
What upgrades are reasonable? The best choice is to take a sight that you like, but without too much zoom. A holo or red dot sight is usually a good choice. Additionally, your weapon should always have a flashlight, as even during the day, some levels can have dark passages.
For the under-barrel, you can use the vertical grip, which helps prevent your weapon from climbing too much when firing rapidly. A suppressor is a good choice for the muzzle, as it ensures that enemies in other rooms do not notice your shots and thus prevents them from flanking you.
Are there alternatives to the MK-18? Yes, the G36 C and the new F90 are also good all-purpose weapons and can be used as alternatives to the MK-18. These weapons are suitable for all purposes but can be worse than other weapons in certain situations.
If you are only facing lightly equipped enemies, you can also rely on the MP9. The MP9 has a high fire rate and makes short work of unarmored opponents.
However, if you have to deal with veterans with military gear, you should better reach for a heavier weapon. The SA-58 OSW is the weapon of choice here. With its high penetration power, it can also stand up to heavily armored enemies. But be careful not to hit innocents with the weapon.
So it is always a matter of weighing whether to choose the MK-18 as an all-rounder or to opt for a weapon better suited to the situation.
