The co-head of Rockstar, Rob Nelson, talks in an interview about the special death video sequences of Red Dead Redemption 2 and their significance for the player experience of fans.
The last few weeks have brought a flood of new information about Red Dead Redemption 2. After a new trailer and details about the world map, Rob Nelson from Rockstar now reveals something about the “Slow-Motion Death Scenes” feature of the game.
Unified Camera Features for Story Missions and Open World
The slow-motion death video sequences are already familiar to players from the first part of Red Dead Redemption. They serve to visually enhance the action in the game and are further improved in RDR2.

According to Nelson, these sequences will be dynamic and intelligent, adapting to the players’ actions to create spectacular combat scenes. They will not only appear in story missions but everywhere in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

So if you take on the law in the open world or get involved in a confrontation between gangs, you can also expect slow-motion sequences here.
The feature is primarily meant to convey the feeling that the player can see the world from the perspective of the protagonist, Arthur Morgan. For example, there will be dramatic pans in areas where the camera has plenty of space.

The team aimed to create the same visual and mechanical leitmotif throughout the game, ensuring consistency in the player experience.
It definitely sounds like a feature that will lead to many video snippets of cool death scenes on social media and YouTube.
