With a special request, the players from Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR 2) are now approaching the developers. They want to be able to pet cats as well. There is even a petition for that now.
The animals in Red Dead Redemption 2 were developed by Rockstar Games with great attention to detail. In cold areas, the testicles of horses shrink and in swamps, hungry alligators await to eat cowboys.
You can interact with many animals in the world. However, the options for cats are limited. Too limited, if the wishes of many players are to be believed. They have now submitted a petition. They want to be able to pet cats in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Petition for Cats Launched
A virtual signature collection has been started on the platform Change.org. This was initiated by the user Mark Kenway, who is apparently a fan of Red Dead Redemption 2. He makes his wish very clear.
The problem and the solution: In the petition, it says “We can pet dogs but not cats. What is this? Animal racism?” As a solution idea for the problem, the user writes, “It must be possible to pet cats, or I will immediately stop petting all the dogs I see. I mean it seriously!”.
The trigger for the survey: A personal story led Kenway to start the petition. While walking through Saint Denis, he bent down to a cat. He wanted to pet it, just as he always does with dogs. Then he realized that this doesn’t work with cats. For him, it seems unfair that you can pet dogs but not cats.
Dogs are even under police protection in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How well is the survey doing? As of the current point (November 19, 11:00 AM), 535 signatures have already been collected. Whether Rockstar will take notice and indeed implement this feature in the game is questionable.

Maybe the NPCs are petting the cats. The NPCs do this in RDR 2 when you are not around.
