In Red Dead Redemption 2, players use bridges to propel themselves across the map. This allows them to reach even areas that are not yet accessible in the game.
What is going on? In the story of Red Dead Redemption 2, you play as Arthur Morgan, who experiences many exciting stories on the expansive map. Away from these missions, the vast world invites exploration. A bridge glitch is currently a hot topic among the community’s cowboys. It works in the online mode of RDR 2, which is now becoming a standalone.
When you shoot the suspension bridge with throwable weapons, it begins to shake uncontrollably. If you then touch the wobbly thing, it propels you through the air for kilometers.
How does the bridge glitch in RDR 2 work?
This is how it looks: On Twitter, Emma Kent from Eurogamer shows how this glitch looks in action. First, she throws a throwing knife at the wooden structure, which immediately starts to wobble. Another knife flies toward the bridge.
And just moments later, your character is flying through the air. She overcomes mountains and rivers. In just a few seconds, she covers several kilometers with remarkable athleticism.
Eventually, there comes a point in the air where the catapult effect stops. The character realizes that it is going downhill now, flails wildly with her arms in the air, screams, and uncontrollably spins around her own axis.
Although the fall from what feels like 100 meters ends with a crash on hard stone, she survives.
How do you do it? To glitch the bridge, it’s best to take a tomahawk or a throwing knife and throw it at the third or fourth plank (counting from the outside). You will find the bridge west of McFarlane’s Ranch. You will see two bridges there – the southern one is the one with the glitch.
The YouTube channel OnlyPVPCat investigated and tried the glitch. It turned out that you can even be catapulted into the air with your horse when the bridge glitch is activated.
In the video, the YouTuber shows that jumps to various heights are possible. However, you can also completely fall through the map’s textures. A larger group cannot be catapulted at the same time.
The glitch was apparently discovered by Reddit user jaitom16, who posted a clip of it on Reddit on November 23rd .
Players get to Mexico: Through the bridge glitch, players can even reach places that were not intended for a visit.
On reddit, user BlackPearlCalvus said, “With teamwork and the bridge glitch, we managed to get my buddy to Mexico and onto the fort.”
User TurboTavia compared the place outside the map where he landed to a set from Star Wars (via reddit).
In November 2018, just weeks after the release of RDR 2, players began searching for glitches. One player managed to break through the invisible wall and discovered Mexico.
