RAM has been getting more expensive for months, but one user seems to be lucky: He ordered a stick of RAM and instead received a whole box. However, so far there is a lack of crucial evidence to actually substantiate his purchase.
Prices for RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards have risen sharply since September 2025. Even RAM from China, which was considered a hidden gem, now costs as much as RAM in Europe. Even buying 18-year-old hardware can only somewhat reduce costs.
Thus, the experience of one user seems like a great stroke of luck: For $300, he ordered RAM but instead received a whole box.

What did the user do? The user reports on Reddit that he ordered RAM for $300. That is a price we also encounter in Germany for DDR5 memory.
However, instead of a single package of RAM, the user allegedly received a whole box of RAM. He shows the picture in his post on Reddit:
What supports this? In the comments, several people explain that something similar has happened to them or that they work in a warehouse where such things simply happen. Too much delivered goods is therefore not unusual at first, and such quantities do occasionally occur when looking at reports and experiences.
We have also reported on such incidents more frequently. In one case, a user received a box with 50 RAM modules from Amazon, but contacted the seller. In the end, Amazon rewarded the honesty of the buyer.
What speaks against it? So far, tangible information confirming the user’s luck is missing: There is no invoice, order history, or anything similar. Some users accuse the person of karma farming as long as he cannot present solid evidence. The user has not yet responded to the demands, but the post is also only one day old as of the current date (27.02.26).
Another point currently against the post: Corsair is selling its Vengeance memory in new packaging due to scammers and this packaging is transparent and no longer consists of yellow boxes. This has been the case since January 2026.
