A shooter like Rainbow Six Siege can really make players sweat. Moreover, the summer heat at an e-sports event in Berlin seems to completely exhaust the e-sports athletes. Some players posted photos on Twitter showing them completely drenched in sweat. However, the organizers are already working on the issue.
Currently, the “Six Berlin Major 2022” event is taking place in Berlin, where e-sports athletes are competing against each other in Rainbow Six Siege. Besides their opponents in-game, the players have another enemy: the summer temperatures of the German capital.
Apparently, the temperatures at the venue were so high that players are now posting sweaty selfies on Twitter, looking completely worn out. However, the organizers are already taking countermeasures.

“The heat is unbearable”
What kind of event is this? The “Six Berlin Major” is currently taking place in Germany. At the theater at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, e-sports athletes are competing against each other in the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. The event will last from August 15, 2022, to August 21, 2021. There are streams and a live audience on-site.
What did the e-sports athletes post? Internet journalist Jake Lucky posted on Twitter and wrote: “The R6 pros are enduring quite a lot for the Berlin Major. Allegedly a lack of air conditioning is prompting players to post selfies of themselves sweating.”
Here you can see Jake Lucky’s Twitter post:
Furthermore, Jake Lucky mentioned, “When the players arrived at the venue, they were even given ‘face spray'” (via Twitter).
Below, Jake Lucky embedded the photos and posts of some participants at the event.
The head coach of Team Rogue, Matthew “meepeY” Sharples, wrote for example:
“It’s warmer at the venue than outside. The heat is unbearable. We are getting small fans on stage and it’s not remotely good enough. It’s even worse in the training rooms.” (via Twitter)
Meanwhile, meepeY posted another photo showing a fan and wrote “YES” (via Twitter). Apparently, the organizers have now found a solution for the head coach of Team Rogue.
Ubisoft complains about air conditioning issues on-site – Regrets technical problems
What does the event organizer say about it? MeinMMO sought the opinion of the organizer regarding the event and asked Ubisoft for a statement about the heat problem. We received the following English response, which we have translated for you:
“We are aware of a technical issue with the air conditioning in the warm-up rooms and in the gaming area of the group matches at the venue.
The comfort and well-being of all participants and staff is our top priority. We chose this venue partly because we were assured that these rooms are equipped with air conditioning. In light of this regrettable technical issue, our teams and partners have been working around the clock on alternative solutions such as fans and portable air conditioning units to cool the rooms and mitigate the effects of the record heat wave currently affecting Europe.
We are closely monitoring the situation and working with the organizers to implement any solutions available to us.”
Are you currently experiencing the heat problem while gaming? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
